Those things about RVs - Talking about Flexible SOLAR PANELS(|||)
The fixed solar panels are permanently mounted on top of the RV. You can add tilt mounts to manually adjust the angle and get the best power generation efficiency.
When installing solar panels, please note that solar panels perform best at low temperatures. It is best to leave a small gap between the panels and the roof to allow air circulation to lower the temperature of the panels. Mounting the panels directly or gluing them to the roof of the car will lose the cooling airflow at the bottom.
This is another reason why rigid panels have an advantage over flexible panels. Most rigid solar panels have some clearance within the frame. This prevents the solar panel from overheating and affecting the power generation efficiency.
Advantages of fixed panels.
They start collecting electricity as soon as the sun comes out.
They don't take up valuable space in the car.
They are less likely to be stolen.
Better adapted to those with high power consumption and needing more than 200W of solar energy.
Can shade the vehicle to help reduce heat.
Disadvantages of fixed panels.
They are difficult to get the best angle of sunlight.
More work to install.
Increases roof height and wind resistance.
Reduces roof layout options and less easy to install air conditioning.
Having to park the vehicle in the sun to get electricity is more of a contradiction in the summer heat.
