Photovoltaic solar chain export statistics for February 2023
I. Polysilicon
According to customs data, China's polysilicon imports in February 2023 were 0.59 million tons, a 33.01% decrease from the previous month and a 23.62% decrease year-on-year.
The significant decrease in polysilicon imports in February 2023 was mainly influenced by the increase in polysilicon supply in the domestic market. According to SMM data, China produced about 35.3GW of monocrystalline silicon wafers and 100,000 tonnes of polysilicon in February 2023, supplying spare capacity for domestic silicon wafer production.
In February 2023, China imported a higher amount of polysilicon from Germany, Malaysia and Japan, with imports of 0.31 million tonnes, 0.21 million tonnes and 0.03 million tonnes respectively;
The top three provinces for polysilicon imports in February 2023 were Tianjin, Shaanxi and Jiangsu, with imports of 0.2 million tonnes, 0.16 million tonnes and 0.09 million tonnes respectively.

Second, silicon wafers
According to customs data, in February 22023, China's exports of monocrystalline silicon wafers with a diameter > 15.24cm were 0.65 million tons, an increase of 0.80% over the previous month and 58.61% over last year.
In 2023, silicon production capacity gradually released, silicon market supply increased, favorable silicon wafer production, in addition to 2022 overseas PV installed demand increased, favorable silicon wafer exports. Overseas installation countries occupy most of China's silicon wafer export market.

In February 2023, China's silicon wafer exports to Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand more, exports were 0.20 million tons, 0.17 million tons, 0.15 tons; exports of the top three provinces are Jiangsu, Guangxi and Yunnan, exports of 0.15 million tons, 0.11 million tons and 0.10 million tons.

Three, battery cells
According to customs data, China's battery cell exports in February 2023 were 408 million, down 27.36% from the previous month and up 48.57% from last year.

China's cell exports to India, Turkey and Cambodia were higher in February 2023, with export volumes of 102 million cells, 99 million cells and 45 million cells, respectively;
In February 2023, the top three provinces of China's cell exports were Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Sichuan, with export volumes of 129 million, 104 million and 0.67 billion cells.
Fourth, the module
According to customs data, China exported 1,485GW of PV modules in January 2023, an increase of 32% compared to December last year and 55% compared to January last year; 1,482GW of PV modules were exported in February, an increase of 6% compared to last year. Highlighting that overseas PV demand is growing beyond expectations.
